Poem – Distance Distorts

Twinkle twinkle little star

Oh how mighty you truly are

But distance distorts

And for this effect, wars are fought

Giant appears small

Bright appears dull

And Friends as enemies

That one worst of all

We need only move closer to see an object’s true form

But we let ignorance drive our thoughts

As fear plants our feet

These roots go deep, still burrowing in the dirt

And so we fight against ideas and people who

Had we just moved a little closer

We might’ve thought were cool

People who might be just like you

Distance distorts

And Should you move closer

You might be surprised to learn by just how much

Distance distorts
