The Hiatus

Today, for the first time in a year-long hiatus, I am writing on my blog again. Because today, for the first time in over a year, I have no pending tasks, no glaring deadlines and no overwhelming need to rest my eyes. It’s been an eventful year, I explored life as a freelancer, I finished NYSC, went on a couple interviews, experienced crushing rejection, and now I’m an auditor.

My life’s trajectory hasn’t gone how I expected it; mostly because I never gave my future much thought. I only had vague plans like “Get a good job”, thankfully I haven’t been punished for it.

It’s been a whole year of researching and writing other people’s stories on other people’s websites because I needed the money. I’ve missed being able to craft my own stories and write about the topics I truly care about. It’s a smaller audience, but I like publishing my own thoughts.

I expect the coming months to be really busy for me, however, I also expect they’ll come with good stories and I’ll always find the time to tell them. Might not get to run them through Grammarly, but I guarantee they’ll be good.

Right now, I’m working on an article that details my experience in the labour market. It’ll be ready this weekend. I hope you get a chance to read it. Good to be back!
